Police are appealing to witnesses of a robbery committed on Ballards Lane at 1pm on 5th April 2011 in which a pair of muggers made off with around £15,000.
One man tried to snatch a bag from the victim containing the takings of the victims convenience store, before the second suspect threatened him with a 5 inch knife.
The suspects then both made off in a black Volkswagen Polo down Litchfield Grove.
They are described as:
Suspect 1: Asian Male, 5’7″, medium build, short hair, black jacket with two white stripes running from shoulder to waist, and blue denim jeans.
Suspect 2: Asian male, 6’1″, medium build , black jacket, ash coloured cap, blue denim jeans.
The bag stolen contained the takings from two shops over the weekend and were intended to be deposited at a nearby bank.
Detective Sergeant Andy Goodwin said: “Anyone who witnessed this incident or knows who these men are is asked to call us as soon as possible.
“Anyone who carries a knife is a danger to others, and when used in a robbery that threat becomes critical.
“I would like to point out that if you do absolutely have to transport such a large amount of money in public that it would be advisable to take some extra precautions such as taking a colleague with you, using a back pack or something to conceal it properly, doing so during busy times and if possible taking smaller amounts over a few trips.”
