The M1 fire – Police are treating this as suspicious!

Appeal for witnesses following scrap yard fire

Officers from Colindale CID are appealing for witnesses and information following a fire at a scrap yard in Ellesmere Avenue NW7 that occurred at approximately 4:15am on Friday 15th April 2011.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was driving along either carriageway of the M1 between 4:00am and 5:00am on the 15th April as they might have important information that could assist the enquiry.

The London Fire Brigade attended and dealt with the blaze and there are no reports of any injuries.

The fire caused substantial damage and disruption and is being treated as suspicious.

Officers from Colindale CID are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire. As yet, there have been no arrests.
