It could be argued that this is nothing to do with Finchley – but it could be!

In fact, it affects all of us.

The following video was shown to a Sony Annual Shareholder Meeting in 2009. I have only just come across it and am still undecided as to whether it is exciting, or frightening. But of one thing I am sure of, the information contained within the video affects us all, whether in Finchley UK, Finchley in the USA, Finchley in India or Finchley in China.

  1. David Lewis Says:

A meaningless jumble of statistics designed to frighten or excite (depending on your disposition), together with scary music which gets on your nerves after a few minutes. It’s meaningless because exactly the same kind of information could have been produced in 1951, 1961, 1971, 1981, 1991 or 2001, just with a different (but equally dramatic for its times) set of facts. A lot of people try to gain power or make money by proclaiming the doctrine of incessant change, as a “challenge” which we must “meet or die”, and this is just another example. Sorry to be skeptical, but I’ve seen it all before!

I wonder what the International body of Sony shareholders thought about it?

But we must remember, the entire strategy behind the video was to frighten those same shareholders of the loss of revenue from the supposed revenue loss of people illegally downloading their music.

But these are facts, and whatever you say about them, they should at least be thought about. In forty years time there will be 12 billion people in the world. Shouldn’t we at least wonder how we are going to feed them and keep them warm in the world>
