Violent Robbery in North Finchley

Police are investigating an allegation of robbery that occurred at Hollickwood Ave, London N12 at around 8pm to 8.30pm on 6th January 2011.

The victim who is in his early seventies told police that he had answered a ring at his door. On answering the door he was confronted by three men who were wearing masks over their faces.

The victim told police that he was pushed back into his house and then struck repeatedly around the face and head.  The men were demanding cash and jewellery; cash, jewellery and other items were stolen from the house. The men are believed to have arrived and left the area in a car that was parked in Hollickwood Avenue.

The elderly victim was taken to a local hospital suffering from injuires consistent with a severe assault. He was subsequently transferred to a central London hospital when his condition suddenly deteriorated. He is currently in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police have been carrying out door to door enquires  and are appealing for any witnesses, or for anyone who has knowledge of this crime, to come forward.

The men who carried this out may be despicable cowards but they do pose a genuine risk to the public.
